GR5
A Comfortable Stop on the Trail
The GR5 passes through Landry on its journey across the French Alps, making the village a natural place to stop, rest and prepare for the next stage of the route.
Refuge Long Churn is around a 10-minute walk from Landry railway station and provides something a little different from a traditional mountain refuge: your own private studio for the night.
After days on the trail, you can enjoy a comfortable bed, private shower and WC, your own kitchenette and space to relax, while still being perfectly positioned to continue the GR5 the following morning.

From Landry Into the Mountains
Leaving Landry, the route begins its climb towards the Vanoise. The first 5 km wind through the trees before the landscape begins to open up and the higher mountains take over.
Continue towards Rosuel and the entrance to the Vanoise National Park, with opportunities to stop for lunch before heading further into the mountains towards the next overnight stage.

Arrive. Rest. Refill. Continue.
Whether Landry marks the end of a long day's walking or the beginning of the next stage, Refuge Long Churn gives GR5 walkers a comfortable place to recharge.
Wash. Eat. Sleep well. Pack the rucksack.
Then step back onto the GR5 and continue into the mountains.
