Closer Than You Think

Refuge Long Churn is in Landry, in the Tarentaise Valley, between Aime and Bourg-Saint-Maurice and directly below Peisey-Vallandry and Les Arcs.

Whether you're travelling by car, train, plane or transfer, getting here is straightforward — and once you arrive, Landry's own railway station and seasonal bus services mean you don't necessarily need a car during your stay.

By Car

Landry is easily reached by road through the Tarentaise Valley.

From northern France and the UK, the journey from Calais is around 8 hours, depending on traffic and conditions.

Once you reach the Tarentaise, Landry is on the main valley route between Aime and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Refuge Long Churn has its own covered parking space, so your car can stay safely parked while you explore.

By Train

One of the great advantages of staying in Landry is having a railway station in the village.

Landry station is around a 10-minute walk from Refuge Long Churn, with rail connections through the Tarentaise Valley and onward through the French rail network.

Depending on your journey and the season, travel from the UK and major French cities can be made using high-speed services followed by a regional connection into Landry.

Arrive by train, walk to the studio, unpack — and use the local bus network to get into the mountains.

There are four main airports for reaching

Landry:

Chambéry – approximately 1½ hours
Lyon – approximately 2 hours
Grenoble – approximately 2 hours
Geneva – approximately 2 hours

Once you land, there are several ways to complete your journey to Refuge Long Churn.

By train – continue towards Landry using the regional rail network. Connections from the airports generally require changes along the way.
By transfer – private and shared airport transfers operate into the Tarentaise, bringing you directly to Landry. We can recommend local transfer companies if required.
By hire car – all four airports have car-hire options, giving you complete freedom for your journey to Landry and throughout your stay.
